In the morning she found its body motionless and stale, the furry comfort that kept her company since she was 5. The entire day passed as a heavy weight anchored her heart as though the world of her past had sunken into the murky sea. She lay in her bed, her eyes half closed, she could barely fall asleep. The feelings loss emcompasses ringed into the silence of the night. Emotions are most dangerous when all is quiet. The music of the harmonica pierced through the stillness of the air, echoing through the neighbourhood like the cries of children in church.
She peered through her window, upon her backyard and there he was standing before the grave, playing the harmonica to the tune of amazing grace. He looked up at her and sent her a comforting half smile.
